The idea of a composite organism, that is giving shelter and healing different types of diseases, is a desirable conception. With the lichen as that composite organism it becomes an imaginable response. Already the simplest description of lichens (in books, papers, etc.) is leading into the direction of giving it an experimental thought. Digging deeper into the complex system - the symbiosis - an affirmative answer is raising up. Symbiosis is the keyword, which creates those specialities, the secondary metabolism substances that will play a leading role in Future Science.
