<ns1:description language="en">Due to globalization and political instability and war, migration is more relevant than ever. Themes of cultural attributions and hierarchies belong to world and contemporary history. People of different cultural backgrounds meet. For the most part, dichotomy arises rather than connectedness, which is often opposed in the attributions of the "own" and the "other." However, these are interwoven polarities, as they condition each other. Hussein Chalayan, an innovative, experimental, highly-focused, conceptual Turkish-Cypriot London fashion designer, explores these themes in the Ambimorphous collection and expresses them through dissolution processes. He deconstructs two garments of various influences and develops a new language using formal vocabulary. This process of transformation happens circularly, as already stated in the title of the collection "taking a form in two directions".
Based on the comprehensive analysis of the collection Ambimorphous is trying to answer the following research questions:

What strategies does Hussein Chalayan use to reduce hierarchies in the context of socio-political hierarchies?
while deconstructing cultural attributions?

How does Ambimorphous show up with the emergence of a hybrid fashion?
How does the compilation of the collection,
from the formal vocabulary taken from costume and fashion history,
to bring this up?

How do dissolution and transformation processes show up?
in terms of tradition, modernity, emancipation and alterity
in the collection Ambimorphous?</ns1:description>
