Am Beispiel der reformpädagogischen Privatschule mit Öffentlichkeitsrecht Schul-Werkstatt Ebreichsdorf Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Frage „Wie wird die Erziehung zu Selbstständigkeit, Autonomie und Mündigkeit erreicht?“ anhand einer Fallstudie mit teilnehmenden Beobachtungen sowie qualitativen Interviews an der Schul-Werkstatt Ebreichsdorf, einer reformpädagogischen Privatschule mit Öffentlichkeitsrecht. Die Schulgesetze in Österreich lassen Spielräume zu, die die Etablierung von Demokratielernen und Schülerpartizipation erlauben. Zum Beispiel die Einführung eines Klassenrats, oder des Service-Learning in der Schule oder Angebote außerhalb des regulären Unterrichts können genutzt werden. Die Übernahme von Verantwortung für sich und für andere, das Erlernen sozialer Kompetenzen und die Stärkung des Selbstvertrauens stehen bei diesen Tätigkeiten im Mittelpunkt. Für die Entwicklung einer demokratischen Schulkultur, die auf Kinderrechte und Partizipation ausgelegt ist, sind die Haltung von Lehrerinnen* und Schulleitung, die Praxis eines sich ständig weiterentwickelnden Prozesses der Schulentwicklung, der sich selbst kritisieren und verändern kann, sowie die Begleitung externer Beratung Voraussetzung. Die Bereitschaft der Eltern und der Schülerinnen-Vertretung sich zu beteiligen und die Kooperation mit außerschulischen Betrieben, Organisationen oder Institutionen sind ebenfalls wichtige Faktoren bei der Entwicklung einer demokratischen Schulkultur. The present study examines the question "How to educate in order to achieve independence and autonomy?" by means of a case study and qualitative interviews held at the school Schul-Werkstatt Ebreichsdorf, a private school with reform-pedagogical approach. The school laws in Austria allow room for the establishment of democratic education and student participation, for example class council, service learning or activities outside of regular classes. Taking responsibility for yourself and for others, learning social skills and strengthening self-confidence are the focus of these activities. For the development of a democratic school culture that is designed to emphasize children's rights and to encourage participation, the attitude of teachers and school management, the practice of a constantly developing process of school development, which can self-reflect and change itself, as well as the support through external consultation are essential preconditions.
