a dependent branche of economies and industry.
The project is a proposal for a 21 century
university campus in Vienna. As knowledge gets
much more comprehensive and complex, universities
are experiencing dramatic shortages of
available space. The architecture being proposed
is an educational framework which links single
institutes together into a greater whole.
It is neither completed, fixed or defined.
Separation of the various parts as we now know
will disappear, internal ones as well as between
the university and its urban surroundings. It
will be the opposite of the oxbridge campus model
where science is meant to occur in a segregated
city far from the rest of the institution. The
relation and interconnectivity between the new
