die Reiterstandbilder, unzählige Bäume, Rasenflächen
oder meterweise Zaun, der Heldenplatz
wird leergefegt um (einen) Platz zu machen.
Das Gebiet zwischen Hofburg und heutigem
Museumsquartier entstand aus den nie vollendeten
Plänen zum Wiener Kaiserforum. Zugeschüttet mit
Objekten unterschiedlichster Bedeutung, leidet
die Stadtanlage unter einer ständigen Erosion
ihrer künstlerischen Substanz und funktioniert
weder als Stadtplatz und Gedenkstätte noch als
Veranstaltungsort oder Repräsentationsraum.
Die abgetragenen Denkmäler werden zu einem einheitlichen
Platzbelag downgecycled. Das neue
Pflaster vereint, über die Ringstraße hinweg,
die beiden getrennten Plätze und schafft eine
freie Sichtachse. Bühnen und Tribünen bilden
gemeinsam mit einem neuen Pflanzkonzept eine
Atmosphäre für Veranstaltungen und Helden von heute.</lom:langstring>
