2007/08 Wintersemester In 13 Gemälden hat Andreas Pasqualini nicht nur ein Lokal mit Geschichte portraitiert, sondern auch eine Annäherung an das Ideal ungehemmter Akzeptanz versucht. Die Bilder loten den Grad zwischen Hässlichkeit und Schönheit aus, wobei die menschliche Würde im Vordergrund bleibt. Die Werke bilden mit dem Lokal selbst, in dem sie nun ausgestellt sind, ein Gesamtkunstwerk. Das Lokalpublikum, das sich aus Schwulen, Lesben, heterosexuellen „Proleten“, Alten, Jungen, Dicken, Dünnen, Akademikern und Strichern zusammensetzt, steht im Dialog mit den Bildern und bindet das Kunstwerk in die Dichte sozialer Dynamiken mit ein. In 13 paintings Andreas Pasqualini has portrayed not only a bar with a long history, but also he tried to approach the concept of uninhibited acceptance. The paintings walk the line between ugliness and beauty, keeping human dignity in the foreground. The canvases constitute a total art work together with the bar itself in which they are now shown. The bars audience, consisting of gays, lesbians and hetero “rednecks”, old, young, fat, slim people, graduates and hustlers stands in a dialogue with the paintings and integrates the artwork into the thickness of social dynamics.
