<lom:langstring xml:lang="de">Das Gegenwartskunstdepot des MAK Wien im
Gefechtsturm Arenbergpark (Baujahr 1943) wird
2013 als MAK Tower mit erweiterten Depot- und
Ausstellungsflächen für zeitgenössische Kunst
und Design wiedereröffnet. Seit Gründung
des Gegenwartskunstdepots 1994 erfolgten
nur punktuelle Eingriffe zur Adaption des
ehemaligen Bunker- und Verteidigungsbaus aus
massivem Stahlbeton. Die Umgebungsbedingungen
für die Erhaltung der Sammlung sind teilweise
verbesserungswürdig. Eine Evaluierung des
Istzustands 2011/12 und eine Risikoanalyse
zeigen, wo im Sinne der präventiven
Konservierung Handlungsbedarf besteht.
Thematisiert werden die Schadensfaktoren
ungeeignete relative Luftfeuchtigkeit
und Temperatur, mechanische Einwirkungen,
Schadstoffe, Schädlinge, Schwund und Verlust,
direkte Wassereinwirkung sowie optische
Strahlung. Nachhaltige Lösungsansätze werden
für die Museumspraxis angeboten.</lom:langstring>
