University of Applied Arts Vienna Arctic Arts Centre Copenhagen Kopenhagen Kultur Zentrum befindet sich an einem Verkehrsknotenpunkt im Bezirk Valby in Kopenhagen. Der Hauptfokus des Projektes ist das Generieren von städtischem Raum angepasst an die neue demografische Komposition sowie neue Arbeitsmuster. Das Kulturzentrum reflektiert einerseits die Funktion als markante Landmarke, Stadtzufahrt und bietet andererseits das funktionale Zusammenspiel und den Zusammenhang mit dem angrenzenden Gebieten. Das Geschehen im als auch um das Gebäude wird als ganzes wahrgenommen. Das Zentrum bietet Räumlichkeiten zum Ausstellen und Aufführen von Kunst, sowie Ateliers, Werkstätten und Proberäume. Durch das respektieren der vorherrschenden Verkehrsströme, betont der Entwurf die Form und Funktion des Baugebietes. Copenhagen art centre is located at a traffic junction in the district Valby in Copenhagen. The projects main focus is on the generation of an urban space suitable for the city’s new demographic composition and new work patterns. The art centre reflects the function as a landmark, a gateway to the city and provides also its functional interplay and cohesion with the rest of its district. The indoor and outdoor activities are considered as a united whole. The centre accommodates premises for exhibiting and performing artwork as well as ateliers, workshops and rehearsal facilities. By respecting the existing flows and movements the design proposal is emphasising the shape and function of the site.
