As Yuan believes, the foundation for faith - he means the Bible - is visible as the word of God. Through the paintings, Yuan tries to find himself and sees them as testimony for Jesus, as spreading of the Gospel and praising of God. The subjects are Bible legends linked with the presence by building associative bridges. Question about methodes, abstraction or realism are not of primary importance for him, but the driving force behind a painting. Als Christ glaubt Anyao Yuan an Jesus Christus, dass dieser Gott ist und die Menschheit nur durch eine persönliche Beziehung zu ihm ein sinnhaftes Leben führen kann. Die verbindliche Grundlage von Yuans Glaubens ist die Bibel als Wort Gottes. Durch die Malerei hofft er, zu sich selbst zu finden, Zeugnis für Jesus ablegen und die Ausbreitung des Evangeliums vorantreiben zu können. Seine Bilder - Darstellungen von Bibel- Legenden, mit denen er Brücken in die Gegenwart schlägt - versteht er als zeitgenössische Gottespreisung und -darbietung.
