phaidra.bibliothek.uni-ak.ac.at o:40353 Symbiotic Green City_Seoul In diesem Projekt wird eine neue Typologie von urbanen Grün-Systemen entwickelt, welche urbane Funktionen, wie Lebens-, Arbeits- und Einzelhandelsbereiche, integriert. Die interaktive Beziehung von Lebenskomplexität und natürlichen Grün-Objekten wird betont. Als Design-Zugang werden symbiotische biologische Systeme betrachtet. Korallen sind ein Beispiel für solch ein System. Die Wachstumsstrategie der Korallen wird mit Umweltfaktoren wie Sonnenstunden, Windfluss und der skelettartigen Wachstumsmatrix in Verbindung gesetzt. Diese Parameter, welche das Gebäudevolumen und die Morphologie erzeugen, indem sonnenzugewandte Flächen erweitert und der Winkel von Grünflächen durch den Windfluss deformiert werden, werden auf die urbane Fläche angewendet und betonen das globale Grün- Programm sowie die Zirkulationsmuster. Seoul developed rapidly during the industrialization in 1970-80s, resulting in diverse living spaces. The global urban cluster and vegetation were, however, not taken into consideration sufficiently during this development – the urban vegetation only makes up 25% of Seoul city (except for mountain areas). In this project a new typology for urban green systems will be developed, which integrates urban functions, such as living, working, retail and recreation. The interactive relationship between living complexity and natural green objects is emphasized. As a design approach, symbiotic biological systems are considered. Corals are an example for such systems. The growing strategy of the coral is related to environmental factors, such as temperature, and its skeletal matrix complex.
