With an enormous current market competition, E-Vehicle design centers present a unique transition of security and transparency. The design centre, located in Le Mans, France, is made from large volumes (wind tunnel, design offices and production labs) as well as small support spaces, emerging from an open display area with an open testing track, to a more secure, employee-only zone. To contrast the large/small and secure/non secure volumes, the strategy of nesting and poche on one hand and surface layering on another are applied. The interior spatially transits from mass to surface layers and finally onto the landscape and as such presents itself differently on the facade.
