Neben der genauen Analyse bestehender Vermittlungstools und der Auseinandersetzung mit der Zielgruppe stand die Entwicklung einer inklusiven Methode im Zentrum. In Gesprächen mit Betroffenen wurde der Wunsch nach Teilhabe im Kunst- und Kulturbereich ernst genommen. Die Frage lautete: Wie könnte eine Lösung der Kunstvermittlung aussehen, die blinde, sehbehinderte und sehende Menschen gleichermaßen anspricht und sich bestmöglich in die Museumswelt einfügt? Als Lösung entstand „Eye to Ear - Gallery of Audible Images”, eine App, die den eigenständigen Kunstgenuss für Menschen mit Sehbehinderungen möglich macht. Mit Hilfe eines Methodenmixes aus verbalen Bildbeschreibungen, Soundddesign und Interaktion am iPad werden zweidimensionale Exponate auditiv vermittelt. Das Projekt entstand aus einer Kollaboration mit NOUS Wissensmanagement GmbH sowie dem Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien For their diploma thesis Verena Blöchl and Katharina-Anna Götzendorfer have been dedicated to the topic of art education for visually impaired people. Besides analysis of already existing art education concepts and incorporating the target audience the development of an inclusive approach was the main objective. As a result of interviews with visually impaired people the desire for participation in cultural fields like art has been taken seriously. The question was as follows: What could be a solution for art education addressing both non-sighted and sighted people equally and how is this fitting into the museums context at best? As solution “Eye to Ear–Gallery of Audible Images” was developed. The app is making an independent art experience for visually impaired people possible. Based on a mix of methods like verbal image descriptions, sound design and interaction on an iPad two dimensional art pieces are provided in an auditive way.
