Sie ist darin durch Verdichtung und Reduktion nahe an das Zeichen gelangt und oszilliert im Spannungsfeld zwischen emotionalem, direktem und individuellem Ausdruck und reflektierter allgemeingültiger Botschaft. Ihr Aufenthalt im Reich der Zeichen hat sie sensibilisiert. In ihrer Diplomarbeit “sigNature” verbindet sie das Zeichen, das für einen selbst steht mit dem Zeichnen das allgemein verständlich ist. Katya Dimova zeichnet es in vielen Varianten und sucht aus der Fülle das geeignete Destillat um ihrer gerecht zu werden. Zeichnungen in unterschiedlichen Formaten werden so zu einem eigenen kommunikativen Raum. sigNature Starting point of her artistic practice is drawing. By means of reduction and compression the drawings came close to becoming signs and are now oscillating between direct emotional and individual expression and reflected, generally accepted messages. Additionally, her stay within the empire of signs has deepened her sensibility for the complexity of our formalized communication. Katya Dimova combines in her diploma work “sigNature” the sign that stands for oneself with the one that is generally understood. Of this she creates many variations and makes a selection out of the plenty that is a suitable distillate to cope with it.
