Die Idee von Bildungsreisen geht zurück bis in die Frühe Neuzeit und wird bis heute in einer Vielzahl von Ausbildungskonzepten genutzt. Die Bildungsreise dient dazu, die eigene schulische oder berufliche Ausbildung zu ergänzen, denn sie kann etwas bieten, was die Ausbildung in der Heimat nicht kann. Die Bildungsreise wird in dieser Arbeit zu einer Leitidee für den schulischen Unterricht und für eine innovative Bildung. Anhand der Bildungsreise als Programm wird untersucht, welche Themen und Aspekte für die schulische Bildung wertvoll sein könnten. Dabei werden u.a. Neugier, außerschulischer Unterricht, projektorientierter Unterricht und Selbstorganisiertes Lernen thematisiert. Zudem werden zwei innovative Schulkonzepte aus Wien vorgestellt, die ein Vorbild für die schulische Bildung des 21. Jahrhunderts sein könnten. Educational journeys are associated with adventure, discovering the world, experiencing something and being able to see something new. They date back to the early modern times and have been used for various educational concepts until today. The educational journey serves as a complement to formal education or professional training because it has something to offer that local education does not provide. Throughout this thesis, the educational journey is supposed to be a guiding idea for school lessons and innovative education. Based on the educational journey as a programme, the thesis explores topics and aspects which could be valuable for formal education. In the process, themes like curiosity, outdoor classes, project-oriented lessons and self-organized learning are discussed.
