My spring / summer clothing collection 2005 was inspired by the aesthetics of neo-baroque, rococo, and early 20th century historicism. Similar to my shoe collection, I have been working with over-dimensioned decorative elements. I'm especially interested in interior design, furniture, fabrics, and decorative elements of neo-baroque design and architecture (i.e. stucco).
These aesthetics of power, wealth, and elaborate form are a daily source of inspiration because I live in a city that offers countless examples, from 'Sisi', 'Lipizzaner', and 'Mozart-Kitsch' to architectural and decorative elements of the time.
For my spring / summer shoe collection 2005, the classic men's shoe served as a staring point, which was then embellished with strong, over-dimensioned decorative elements. I also use playful elements inspired by rich, creamy cakes and glazed pastries as well as by neo-baroque architecture and its elaborate facades. In the course of my creative process, I first worked with sandals, which then turned into closed shoes and ankle boots.
Thematically, the entire collection is positioned between 'kitsch' and 'good taste', dealing with 'trash culture' and its clichés, thereby questioning the current tendencies of minimalism in fashion and society.</dc:description>
