Elisabeth Hösl Elisabeth Hösl Gabriela Krist Gabriela Krist Die Sarkophage aus Zinnlegierungen in der Wiener Kapuzinergruft; Restauriergeschichte - Raumklima - künftige Konservierung Die Kapuzinergruft in Wien (gegr. 1617), Bestattungsort von 146 Angehörigen des Hauses Habsburg, ist ein bedeutendes Nationaldenkmal Österreichs. Erstmalig wird einen Überblick über die lange Restauriergeschichte der etwa 50 Sarkophage aus Zinnlegierungen gegeben. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Evaluierung des Raumklimas, welches durch Inbetriebnahme einer Klimaanlage im Jahr 2003 optimiert werden konnte. Die neuen Umgebungsbedingungen und die Auswertung von Korrosions- und Überzugsproben bieten Argumente dafür, künftig die restauratorischen Maßnahmen auf ein Minimum einzuschränken. Im praktischen Teil der Arbeit wurden exemplarisch an einem Kindersarkophag restauratorische und konservatorische Maßnahmen durchgeführt. The coffins made of tin alloys in the Crypt of the Capuchin Friars in Vienna; history of restoration - climatic situation - future conservation The Crypt of the Capuchin Friars in Vienna (founded in 1617), burial place of 146 members of the imperial Habsburg family, is a cultural monument of Austria. For the first time a survey of the long history of restoration of about 50 coffins made of tin alloys is offered. Another main topic was to evaluate the climatic conditions, which improved considerably by the installation of an air-conditioning system in 2003. The new environmental situation and the scientific analyses of samples taken from corrosion products and coatings give arguments against extensive restoration in future. The practical part of this diploma consists in an exemplary conservation of a child's coffin.
