Einer davon zeigt die Schichten eines Sedimentaufschlusses, der andere die Farbschichten an einer Zimmerwand. In ihrer Gesamtheit gesehen sind Schichten große Speicher, natürliche Archive von einzelnen Zeitabschnitten. Sie sind wie ein Gedächtnis, der verfügbare Besitz an Erinnerungen, an aufgenommenen Eindrücken und Gedanken. Die „Erinnerung“ wird im Brockhaus als ein bewusstes Wiederhervorbringen von Vergangenem, Gelerntem, Erlebtem durch das Gedächtnis beschrieben. Die Freilegung der Schichten hätte in diesem Sinne die Funktion, dem Gedächtnis nachzuhelfen, so wie jemanden mit Nachdruck dazu zu bringen, etwas zu erzählen, wovon er behauptet, es vergessen zu haben. summer term 2014 container Diploma „How do you imagine it, and how do you visualize it and interpret things? One video shows the layers of a sedimentary formation, the other one shows layers of paint that have accumulated on a wall of a room. Taken together, all the layers give form to a memory, considered as an available possession of absorbed impressions and thoughts. “Erinnerung” “memory” is described in the Brockhaus as a conscious reproduction of what is past, of what one has learned and experienced or as an object that keeps alive past impressions.
