Neben der Frage nach dem Vorkommen und den Arten von Leerstellen für den menschlichen Körper in der Skulptur, wird vor allem den Besonderheiten im Rezeptionsprozess nachgegangen. Dazu werden unterschiedliche Aspekte der Leerstelle herausgearbeitet und vor dem Hintergrund ausgewählter kulturwissenschaftlicher und philosophischer Theorien diskutiert. The diploma thesis at hand, elaborates the topic of the empty space for the human body in sculptures from 1960 until present. It investigates the question of the occurence of the empty space in sculptures for the human body and its manners of appearance. Specific focus is laid upon the particularities the observer experiences during the process of reception.
