The viewing of these pictures makes believe, that the past would have been better and more exciting than reality right now. But the world of a picture-book is just in the pictures. The flaws of the photography (its edges, the fuzzy image, the grain, the yellowing, and so on) exists just on the photo. A picture is not transferable to the real world.
