Und wir bewahren sie in Schachteln auf oder stellen sie zwischen den Büchern im Regal ab und aus. Selbst wenn wir sie nicht im Alltag gebrauchen, besitzen wir alle Gegenstände, von denen wir uns ungern trennen würden. Und wenn wir ein altes Zuhause mit einem neuen ersetzen, dann nehmen wir unsere Erinnerungsobjekte mit. Was haben Menschen eingepackt, als sie nach Wien gezogen sind und welchen Stellenwert hat das Mitgebrachte heute? Wie gehen wir mit unseren Gegenständen und mit unseren Migrationserfahrungen um? Im Dialog mit Wiener EinwanderInnen sucht die dokumentarische Arbeit nach einem anderen Blickwinkel auf die Migrationsnarrative der letzten Jahrzehnte und auf die Materialisierungsformen unserer Erinnerungskultur. memory pieces We are all collectors. We collect the artefacts from our lives, our past relationships with people and places. And we preserve them in boxes or store and exhibit them between the books on the shelf. Even though we do not use them on a daily basis, we all possess objects that we are reluctant to part with. When we replace an old home with a new one, we take the objects of our with us. What did people pack when they moved to Vienna, and what significance does the brought along have today? How do we deal with our objects and with our experiences of migration?
