The search for transcendental meaning has long since discovered more than just the sphere of consumption. Hypercultures" (Han) with innumerable individual narratives are emerging through the Internet. Traditional cultural spaces are superimposed and penetrated. Apart from Western binary categories, new scenarios of digitality, nature and gender are emerging. Digital natives take their mythologies into their own hands!
The installation demonstrates this new practice of myth production. Art objects and consumer products are brought into narrative connections and tested for their spiritual impact. Individual narratives, as an artistic strategy, are led from the digital to the material and manifest themselves as artifacts of a global affiliation. MYTHS OF DIGITAL NATIVES
Durch Globalisierung und Digitalisierung ist die Welt unüberschaubar geworden. Die Suche nach transzendierender Sinngebung hat längst nicht nur die Sphäre des Konsums für sich entdeckt. Durch das Internet entstehen „Hyperkulturen“ (Han) mit unzähligen, individuellen Erzählungen. Dabei werden herkömmliche kulturelle Räume überlagert und durchdrungen. Abseits der westlich-binären Kategorien entstehen neue Szenarien von Digitalität, Natur und Geschlecht. Digital Natives nehmen ihre Mythologien selbst in die Hand!
In der Installation wird diese neue Praxis der Mythenproduktion vorgeführt. Kunstobjekte und Konsumprodukte werden in erzählerische Verbindungen gebracht und auf ihre spirituelle Wirkkraft geprüft. Individuelle Narrative werden als künstlerische Strategie aus dem Digitalen heraus zum Stofflichen geführt und manifestieren sich als Artefakte einer globalen Zugehörigkeit.
