University of Applied Arts Vienna Co-Ability in Theorie und Praxis Diese Bachelorarbeit diskutiert das Co-Ability Konzept, welches unter anderem auf Rosi Braidottis kritischer posthumanistischer Theorie, sowie auf den Critical Disability Studies beruht. Im Anschluss wird noch der Capability Ansatz von Martha Nussbaum und Amartya Sen untersucht, der analog zu Co-Ability die Potenziale von Menschen in den Fokus rückt. Dabei werden begriffshistorische Perspektiven mit neuen Forschungsständen verglichen, um hierzu genauere Einblicke zu erhalten. Folgend wird dargelegt, wie sich das Konzept auf selbstbestimmte kreative Prozesse von Menschen mit Behinderungen übertragen lässt. Anhand einer Feldstudie wird mittels Artistic Research die Schnittmenge von Co-Ability und performativer Praxis untersucht. Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei darauf gelegt, wie und in welchem Ausmaß Momente von Co-Ability stattfinden. Diese Bachelorarbeit entsteht in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Griessner Stadl, der Lebenshilfe Murau und dem Zentrum Didaktik für Kunst und interdisziplinären Unterricht an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst Wien. This bachelor's thesis discusses the concept of Co-Ability, which is based, among other things, on Rosi Braidotti's critical posthumanist theory and Critical Disability Studies. Subsequently, the Capability Approach by Martha Nussbaum and Amartya Sen is also examined, which, similar to Co-Ability, focuses on the potentials of individuals. In doing so, historical conceptual perspectives are compared with new research approaches to gain more precise insights. It is elucidated how the concept can be applied to self-determined creative processes of people with disabilities. Through an artistic research field study, the intersection of Co-Ability and performative practice is examined. Particular attention is paid to how and to what extent moments of Co-Ability take place.
