Im Mittelpunkt stehen Siebdrucke, die molekulare Formeln und mikroskopische Aufnahmen von Pigmenten zeigen, die mit eben diesen Pigmenten realisiert wurden. Dieser Kurzschluss von Signifikant und Signifikat konfrontiert uns mit der fortwährenden Materialisierung von Bedeutung und macht wissenschaftliche Repräsentation als eine ko-konstitutive Praxis sichtbar, nicht als objektive Wahrheitsproduktion. Die hergestellten Objekte wurden entwickelt und getestet um ihre Kompostierbarkeit sicher zu stellen. Die Kompostierung materialisiert zeitliche, materiell-diskursive Schleifen, die sich über Biosphären, Geosphären und Atmosphären erstrecken. Diese Objekte allein können ihre komplexen Entstehungsgeschichten nicht vollständig erfassen und werden im Text durch detaillierte Beschreibungen ihrer Produktionspraktiken ergänzt, um sie so transparent und reproduzierbar wie möglich zu machen. Metamaterial is an artistic exploration of representations and their material being. At its core are serigraphic prints that depict molecular formulas and micrographs of pigments, rendered using those very same pigments. This collapse of the signifier and the signified confronts us with the ongoing materialization of meaning and exposes scientific representation as a co-constitutive practice, not objective truth production. Crucially, the manufactured objects were developed and tested to be compostable, highlighting tempo- ral, material-discursive loops spanning over biospheres, geospheres, and atmospheres.
