I propose an artistic exploration of\nthe dynamic between humans and machines, investigating bodily sensations in human-robot\ninteractions (HRI). The artistic research project was realized in cooperation with the Creative\nRobotics Lab, Linz to produce a movement experiment, that enables a real-time human robot\nexperience. Bodily sensation mapping (BSM) was used as a self-reporting tool to assess\nphysical and emotional experiences humans have when engaging with robots. To begin with,\nexperiments were carried out, in which participants were invited to interact with a robot and\nlater asked to draw their bodily sensations in a body silhouette. Through BSM data was\ncollected and translated by dancers into a movement score, resulting in a choreography. This\ncreates a circular process where actors, humans and robots, influence each other. Robots’\nmotion design is inspired by human physique as to imitate the efficiency of natural movement.\nDance offers the possibility to explore movement scenarios beyond that. Performative\napproaches function as an expression of an interaction.
