<dc:description xml:lang="en">This project investigates the shopping mall and the street market as two distinct commercial typologies that construct fundamentally different relationships between interiority and the city. Using Lugner City and Brunnenmarkt as case studies, it compares the enclosed, autonomous interior of the mall with the open, continuous interiority of the market street. The design intervention cuts through Lugner City, extending the linear sequence of Brunnenmarkt toward Märzpark and the Wiener Stadthalle, transforming the mall into a new urban passage. Along this sequence, programs traditionally associated with contemporary malls are reinterpreted within an open public environment. Rather than constructing interiority through enclosure, the project proposes an alternative model based on visual depth, spatial sequencing, and continuous engagement with the surrounding city. This is achieved through the reinterpretation of Vienna's storefront typology, whose architectural language is reconfigured to dissolve the distinction between inside and outside. Positioned between the enclosed mall and the open market street, the proposal explores a hybrid commercial typology in which interiority emerges as an urban condition rather than a bounded architectural space.</dc:description>
