(Inter)Section is a practice-led artistic research project investigating sectional epistemology as a condition of knowledge production. The research employs a sonic-spatial method combining a directional speaker, white noise, and spectrogram analysis as its methodological framework, conducted across eight experiments in varied indoor and outdoor environments between 2023 and 2025. Operating across a structural gap between room acoustics and signal processing, the method approaches the central question: if a spatial field is only accessible through an interface, what can be known?
Through the mathematical constitution of the spectrogram and its inherently sectional nature, the research develops a sectional epistemology situated within broader epistemological perspectives on sectioning, visibility, and mediated perception. The concept of (Inter)Section operates as a structural condition, topological configuration, and isomorphic expansion, proposing that conditionality itself is the basis upon which knowledge becomes possible.
