Austin und Judith Butler, in Hinblick auf Erika Fischer-Lichtes in „Ästhetik des Perfor-mativen“ formulierten Behauptung, dass sowohl für John L. Austin als auch für Judith Butler die Aufführung den „Inbegriff des Performativen“ darstelle. Der erste Teil der Arbeit widmet sich Austins Sprechakttheorie, die anhand der Positionen von Sybille Krämer, Jaques Derrida und Shoshana Felman näherhin betrachtet wird. Während hier performative Akte als sprachliche Handlungen im Vordergrund stehen, beschäftigen in dem anschließend behandelten Performa-tivitätsmodell Butlers, performative Akte, sofern sie kulturelle bzw. geschlechtli-che Identität hervorbringen. Es erfolgt hier eine kulturtheoretische Erweiterung des Performanzbegriffs, der die Strategien des Aufführens und Inszenierens in das Blickfeld rückt. Um einer möglichen Engführung von Performativität und Performance weiter nachzugehen, wird in einem abschließenden Kapitel an-hand der Positionen von Peggy Phelan und Philip Auslander die Entgegenset-zung von Live-Ereignis und medialer Reproduktion problematisiert. Subject of this diploma thesis are the performativity models of John L. Austin and Judith Butler, discussed with regard to the assertion of Erika Fischer-Lichte that for Austin and Butler performance appears to be an epitome of performati-vity. The first chapter of this thesis is about Austin’s speech-act theory, considered by the means of the positions of Sybille Krämer, Jaques Derrida and Shoshana Felman. While the speech act theory deals with performtive acts as linguistic actions, Butlers performativity model considers performative acts as far as they constitute cultural or gender identity. This marks a culture-theoretical extension of the concept of performance, which is related to strategies of enactment and staging.
