The different functions and aspects of clothing in films are presented. Pop culture and teen cinema are discussed, because the films The Hunger Games (2012, Gary Ross) and The Hunger Games – Catching Fire (2013, Francis Lawrence), which are analysed in the second part of the thesis, belong to those genres. The analysis’ focus lies on the films’ costumes and their references to class, power, political resistance and gender. Diese Diplomarbeit beinhaltet einen theoretischen Teil zum Thema Filmkostüm, in welchem verschiedene Funktionen und Aspekte von Kleidung im Film behandelt werden.
