Das Diplomprojekt beschäftigt sich mit Raum, der individuellen und kollektiven Raumwahrnehmung, Raumerfahrung und Raumverstehen. Der Arbeit in between (out) sind mehrere partizipative Installationen und Projekte vorausgegangen, die mit verschiedenen Materialien und Medien die Anordnungen von Mensch und Raum untersucht haben. Raum wird in dieser Auseinandersetzung nicht als Konstante, sondern als Variable verstanden, die von Erfahrungen jeder und jedes einzelnen geprägt ist und immer wieder verändert wird. In dem andauernden Prozess bestimmen das Ich, Du und Wir Räume und gleichzeitig definieren Räume mich, dich und uns. Mit in between (out) werden zwei Aspekte des Raumbegriffs verfolgt. Zum einen wird gefragt, wie viel oder auch wie wenig Materialität der immaterielle Raum nicht doch braucht. Die Dunkelheit bietet hier dehnbare Raumgrenzen an. Zum anderen geht es darum, das Ich als Teil eines Gefüges zu erproben. Dieses Raumdenken ermöglicht uns, darin zu sein, irgendwo dazwischen oder auch draußen und Raumbegrenzungen aufzulösen.

The diploma project addresses the issue of space, with individual and collective perception of space, with the experience and comprehension of space. The work in between (out) was preceded by numerous participative installations and projects which incorporated a variety of materials and media to examine the configuration of human beings and space. In this confrontation space is not perceived as a constant, but a variable element which is shaped by the experience of each and every individual and which is constantly altering. In a perpetual process, the I, you and we determine spaces and at the same time define the spaces me, you and us. in between (out) approaches two aspects in the concept of space. On the one hand it is questioned how much or how little materiality the immaterial space in fact requires. Here, darkness offers flexibility to spatial boundaries. On the other hand it is a matter of investigating the I being part of a system. This spatial thinking enables us to be in it, to be somewhere in-between, or also outside, and to dissolve spatial boundaries.
