Description (en)
Description (en)
It begins with an essay on whiteness and positionality, proposing culturally responsive pedagogy and A/R/Tography as useful tools for Working and Practising. To further clarify the lens with which I look through, I invite Readers, Viewers and Listeners to engage with a selection of texts for accessible Exhibition making that have helped me define the mediums of The Exhibition and The Book. Then referring to excerpts of in and ex situ pieces of writing from viewing studies that are included in the annex to consider various ‘objective’ and ‘subjective’ methods of viewing, reading and writing about Exhibitions. I cue you into my thought process. You follow my Art Practice, carrying the lens with which I look through and then, together, we confront the making an immersive installation of a drawing titled /remember you have a body, remember you live in a city/. It ends by outlining the importance of collaboration and the realities of confronting The Exhibition and The Book as mediums for personal practice within institutional frameworks.
