Diese Diplomarbeit beinhaltet einen theoretischen Teil zum Thema Filmkostüm, in welchem verschiedene Funktionen und Aspekte von Kleidung im Film behandelt werden. Außerdem wird auf Populärkultur und Jugendfilme eingegangen, da die im Analyse-Teil behandelten Filme, The Hunger Games (2012, Gary Ross) und The Hunger Games – Catching Fire (2013, Francis Lawrence), zu jenem Genre zählen. Im Fokus dieser Analyse stehen dabei die Filmkostüme in Bezug auf die Themen Klasse, Macht, politischer Widerstand und Gender

The first part of the diploma thesis at hand is a theoretical one on costumes in film. The different functions and aspects of clothing in films are presented. Pop culture and teen cinema are discussed, because the films The Hunger Games (2012, Gary Ross) and The Hunger Games – Catching Fire (2013, Francis Lawrence), which are analysed in the second part of the thesis, belong to those genres. The analysis’ focus lies on the films’ costumes and their references to class, power, political resistance and gender.
